    • Tiles Price GuideTiles are often used to form wall and floor coverings, and can range from simple square tiles to complex or mosaics. Tiles are most often made of ceramic, typically glazed for internal uses and unglazed for roofing, but other materials are also commonly used, such as glass, cork, concrete and other composite materials, and stone. Tiling stone is typically marble, onyx, granite or slate. Thinner tiles can be used on walls than on floors, which require more durable surfaces that will resist impacts. This section contains a price guide for ceramic tiles including Chinese and Islamic tiles.

Nymphenburg Price Guide

Price guide to antique and vintage Nymphenburg porcelain items. Nymphenburg porcelain, German hard-paste, or true, porcelain produced in Bavaria from around the middle of the 18th century until the present day. The first factory was established in 1747 at the castle of Neudeck, outside Munich, by Maximilian III Joseph, elector of Bavaria. The wares produced here are sometimes called “Neudeck–Nymphenburg.” In 1761 the factory was moved to Nymphenburg, on the outskirts of Munich, where it still operates. The tableware and vases produced by Nymphenburg are often reminiscent of Meissen, even to their use of the ozier, or basketwork, pattern borders. Nymphenburg’s most original contribution in this kind of ware was a réchaud, or food warmer. Reference: Encyclopaedia Britannica
